Recipe Box App High Fidelity Prototype

High Fidelity Prototype: The logo, branding, and photos have been added to the prototype to give the stakeholder a more accurate presentation of what the app will look like and how it will function.

Low Fidelity Prototype: Several rounds of user testing revealed areas where simplification was needed in wording and with organizaion. User testing also helped to narrow down which specific features were necessary for this app.

Site Map: Creating a site map is often one of the earliest tools used in planning a website or app. This sitemap helpd to set the structure of the project.

"Recipe Box" is a personal recipe database. Recipes can be saved for personal use or saved and posted to social media outlets.

Needs and Goals for the "Recipe Box" App:

  • Simplify collecting data including recipes and photographs
  • Easily sort and find recipes
  • Easily share recipes on social media and through email
  • Connect images with phone gallery
  • Increase the number of users
The ideal user for this app would be a person who loves to cook and share recipes. This person must be tech savy.

Renee's Profile: 45 yr old, Mother of three teens, lives in Atlanta, GA, full-time Mom and Recipe/Food Blogger

Scenerio: Renee has always loved to cook. She wants to use Recipe Box to continue to develop her reputation as taste expert in order to earn money from home. Recipe Box will also help her organize her recipes and ideas.

Goals: Earn $100,000/year from home from her blog and from publishing a 2nd recipe book

Scenerio: Jen is a young mother and likes to cook healthy food for her family. She needs an indexing system to keep track of her recipes. This is for personal use.

Goals: Keep track of recipes. Easily access them.

Tech Habbits: Jen uses the web after the children have gone to bed or during the day when she gets a free minute. She mainly uses her iPhone

Saint Martin's Completed Website

Completed Project: St. Martin's Website adjusts to smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktops computers. It is also a Content Management System. Church staff can easily make changes to the website keeping content current and relevant.

Low Fidelity Prototype: This prototype was created in order to impliment user testing. The data revealed where simplification was needed with the information architecture and with basic wording and phrasing.

Saint Martin's Sitemap

Annotated Wireframe and Sitemap: This sitemap and wireframe were both part of the early planning process. They give specific instructions as to what will go where.

St. Martin of Tours needed a new website. This site had to be responsive, and it needed to meet the specific goals listed below.

The old website for St. Martin of Tours had 1,700 visitors per month. 1,350 of those visitors went directly to the homepage and left in under 30 seconds.

Approximately 25% of registered parishioners attend weekly Mass and the majority of donations come from the senior population.

Needs and Goals for the Parish and Website:

  • Create CMS so that the staff can update the site
  • Increase weekly Mass attendance
  • Increase volunteerism and parish involvements
  • Increase donations
  • Calendar of events must connect to smartphone and computer calendars
  • Site must be responsive
  • Simplify the site. Better organization of content
  • Make donating to the parish easy
  • Teaching and evangelization tools must be added to the site
  • Links must be named in the easiest/most clear language
The ideal user for this website is someone who wants to support the church through volunteering, attending Mass as well as social functions, and through donating to the parish.

Ashley's Profile: 24 yrs old, Interior Designer, born/raised in Babylon, NY, lives in Amityville, NY, atttended NY School of Interior Design, works on Long Island

Scenerio: Ashley was recently engaged and wants to quickly work out the details of her Wedding which will be held at St. Martin’s in Amityville. She was raised Catholic and goes to Mass on some religious holidays. She isn’t very involved with her church.

Goals: Schedule wedding. Complete requirements of marriage prep. Get married in St. Martin’s Church.

Favorite Sites: Wedding planning sites, Facebook, Snapchat, Spotify, Banking Apps, Interior Design sites

Tech Habbits: Checks email and social media often throughout the day with her iPhone. At night uses her laptop.

John's Profile: 36 yrs old, married, father of three, Web Developer, online security company, works in Melville, NY, born/raised in Northern VA, purchased waterfront home in Amityville

Scenerio: Because of a job opportunity, James just moved to Amityville from Northern, VA. He’s a fairly devout Catholic husband and Father. He wants to stay plugged into the life of the Church by going to Mass, and taking advantae of volunteer opportunities and social functions for himself and his family.

Goals: Meet people, volunteer, grow in his faith, attend social activities

Fav Sites: Web/Tec sites, boating (he’s a beginner)

Tech Habbits: James uses his desktop at night. He sometimes checks his iPhone but mainly, uses his iPhone for work
